When the railroad's hired guns came to force families off their land, they made one mistake, they stored their powder too close together.

 

The explosion could be seen for miles.

 

From that night on, the company branded him an outlaw.

 

Brimstone called him a protector.

 

Cinder doesn't love fire because it destroys.

 

He loves it because it ends a fight before it reaches innocent people.

 

He burns payroll meant to finance mercenaries. He destroys weapons before they're placed in the hands of killers. He collapses bridges only after making certain no townsfolk are anywhere near them. Every blaze is measured. Every explosion planned.

 

His sawed-off double barrel is his last resort.

Among the Brimstone Syndicate, Cinder is the unpredictable one. Railspike trusts his skill but questions his methods. Hawthorne Creed keeps a careful eye on him from the ridges, ready to stop him if emotion ever replaces judgment. Even Gravehammer reminds him that every flame leaves a shadow.
